A funny thing happened to Joe Stoner while he was volunteering for Blue Zones Project SWFL, he found his purpose and began working with them.

Joe had retired to Florida from New York after a forty year career as an educator. Starting as a teacher and coach, he eventually became a principal and a superintendent, in each case working with communities to reach for excellence in all areas of education.

In addition, Joe taught administrative leadership classes at the collegiate level, became a Leader In Me facilitator, spoke at state and national conferences and even found some time to coach some collegiate basketball.

His children are all service professionals. His two daughters are nurses and a son who is a teacher/coach.  Joe’s six grandchildren are in school ranging from Kindergarten to middle school.  All of them keep Grandpa on his toes.
